Terroir Kitchen is the culmination of friendships, food experiences, cooking, working on farms, farmer’s market management, and the passionate joy of eating. I grew up in Youngstown, NY where I worked on a produce farm for 10 years, worked in restaurants and grew up learning to cook with my family. I moved to Lockport in 2007 and will call this place home for the foreseeable future.
Lockport is Eastern hub of Niagara County and one of the most diverse growing regions in the country. Terroir is a French term, from the earth, and speaks to the unique flavors of food from a specific land and the regional preparations. Now a bar manager at Buffalo Distilling Co; a farm to bottle distiller, as well as caterer, I am honored to bring you the full experience of the flavors of Western New York.
Terroir is constantly evolving and settling in. This comes from the love languages of my parents and grandparents. The gentle "I love you" of a favorite treat or special meal. It is all so charming and sincere, a small token of love to be experienced and savored, not kept on a shelf but to become part of you.
I find joy in our local foods and the story that we tell. Eating is one of few experiences that encompass all of our senses at once and in turn I find it to be the strongest universal language of love.
